We are looking for a Software & Firmware Engineer to join the Space Division within the Missile & Space Systems Group at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

The role focuses on the development of airborne spacecraft software, combining Real-Time Embedded systems and FPGA-based solutions for advanced satellite platforms.

The position includes:

• Developing RT Embedded software in C and C++, including working with real-time operating systems

• Developing FPGA firmware using VHDL

• Gathering and analyzing requirements from multiple engineering disciplines, defining system architecture, developing logical designs, and implementing software and firmware solutions

• Writing simulation code, performing verification and validation activities, and supporting Place & Route processes in various debugging environments for Embedded and FPGA-based systems

• Working with requirements management tools, configuration control systems, AI-based tools, laboratories, and test equipment for satellite computer systems

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams including hardware, software, systems, and integration engineers

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering – Mandatory

• At least 5 years of experience developing RT Embedded systems with operating systems – Mandatory

• At least 5 years of FPGA development experience, including hardware systems development, logical design, and communication protocols – Mandatory

• Experience with FPGA platforms such as Xilinx, Altera, or Actel – Mandatory

• Ability to read electrical schematics and experience working in multidisciplinary hardware environments – Advantage

• Experience in communication signal processing and/or image processing – Advantage

• Experience working with operating systems such as Linux and FreeRTOS – Advantage

• Knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python – Advantage

• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) – Mandatory
