Attis Aviation is working in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Company’s activities include UAS development, flight testing, pilots training, certification, operation and more.

As part of the company’s growth, we are looking for an experienced System Engineer.

Position Overview:

Attis Aviation, a leading innovator in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) domain, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to take a central technical leadership role in the architecture, development, integration, and certification of advanced UAS platforms.

This is a hands-on senior role for an engineer with a strong hardware and software systems background, capable of owning system-level decisions, translating operational needs into engineering requirements, and leading multidisciplinary teams through development, integration, testing, and certification phases.

The role combines deep technical ownership with system-level thinking, bridging avionics, embedded software, electronics, aeromechanics, communications, and flight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1) System Architecture & Technical Ownership

  • Define and own end-to-end UAS system architecture, with emphasis on HW/SW interfaces and system integration.
  • Translate operational and customer needs into clear system, subsystem, and interface requirements.
  • Lead trade studies and technical decision-making across avionics, computing, communications, power, sensors, and control systems.
  • Ensure robust HW/SW partitioning, interfaces, redundancy concepts, and failure management strategies.

2) Hardware & Software Integration Leadership

  • Lead integration of embedded software, flight control systems, avionics, payloads, and ground systems.
  • Oversee integration activities involving flight computers, sensors, datalinks, actuators, and power systems.
  • Guide HW/SW bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis during lab, ground, and flight testing.
  • Define integration and verification strategies across SIL / HIL / ground / flight test environments.

3) Development & Project Leadership

  • Lead system engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle: concept, PDR, CDR, integration, testing, and certification.
  • Coordinate engineering execution with internal teams and external subcontractors.
  • Support project planning, risk management, and technical schedule ownership.
  • Mentor engineers and technicians across hardware, software, and integration domains.

4) Verification, Validation & Quality

  • Define and execute V&V plans at system and subsystem levels.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, design, tests, and compliance evidence.
  • mplement best practices for configuration management, change control, and design reviews.

5) Certification & Regulatory Interface

  • Serve as a technical focal point for CAAI (Israel) certification activities and customer authority engagement.
  • Support preparation of certification artifacts, compliance matrices, and technical justifications.
  • Ensure system design aligns with applicable aviation, safety, and operational standards.

6) Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Produce and maintain system engineering documentation, including:
  • System & subsystem requirements
  • Interface control documents (ICDs)
  • Architecture descriptions
  • Integration and test procedures
  • Certification support material

Qualifications:

Mandatory-

1) 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering within UAV / aerospace / complex embedded systems environments.

2) Strong hands-on background in hardware and software systems, not purely managerial.

3) Proven experience in UAS development and integration, including avionics, embedded computing, sensors, communications, and flight control systems.

4) Demonstrated ability to define requirements across electronics, software, mechanical, and flight dynamics domains.

5) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or similar).

6) Excellent system-level problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

7) Strong written and verbal communication skills.

8) Fluent in English and Hebrew.

Advantages-

1) Experience with UAS certification processes (CAAI / EASA / FAA / military frameworks).

2) Background in embedded software, avionics integration, or flight control systems.

3) Experience working with flight computers (e.g., Pixhawk-class systems or equivalent).

4) Prior experience as a UAV technician or systems engineer in the IAF.

5) Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

If you are a motivated and experienced professional looking to contribute to cutting-edge UAS projects, we invite you to apply and be a part of Attis Aviation's exciting journey into the future of unmanned aerial systems.
