Cloudinary is the media experience platform that helps developers and brands manage, transform, and deliver images, video, and 3D at scale. Our APIs, SDKs, and workflow tools power high-performance media across web, mobile, and apps for thousands of companies worldwide.

Cloudinary’s Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) is an embedded founder who incubates and de-risks new growth bets - from zero-to-one product concepts to new go-to-market motions. You’ll run lean experiments, validate customer pain, build prototypes or business cases, and chart the path to scale (or a fast, evidence-based sunset). Upon a “Go” decision, the EIR will transition into the General Manager of the initiative, with end-to-end ownership (strategy, roadmap, P&L, and team). Think of this as an internal startup founder with privileged access to Cloudinary’s people, platform, and customers—and a defined path to GM.

What You’ll Do:

  • Venture Discovery & Thesis: Identify high-potential opportunity areas aligned to strategy. Craft ICPs and testable hypotheses worthy of funded experiments
  • Customer & Market Validation: Lead problem interviews, solution tests, and early commercial signal checks with design partners. Size the market and map competitive dynamics
  • Experimentation & Prototyping: Orchestrate rapid MVPs/POCs using vibe coding and no-code/low-code tools along side a small cross-functional group (Product, Eng, Design, RevOps). Define stage gates and exit criteria; sunset quickly when signals are weak
  • Commercialization & GM Transition: Propose viable GTM (self-serve vs. enterprise), channels/partnerships, unit economics, and success metrics. If “Go,” you will transition to GM and lead scale-up—own resourcing, roadmap, operating cadence, and cross-functional execution
  • Internal Enablement: Mentor PMs/PMMs on lean experimentation and evidence-based decisioning; codify reusable playbooks and templates
  • External Sensing: Maintain a network of founders/partners; surface relevant partnerships or build/buy/ally options

Qualifications

  • Former founder, GM, or senior product leader with a 0→1 track record and 10+ years of experience shipping products/businesses to meaningful revenue
  • Demonstrated ability to run fast, resource-efficient experiments that lead to scaled wins or smart sunsets
  • Strong instincts in developer platforms and/or media technology (APIs, performance, AI/ML-assisted workflows, content ops, e-commerce)
  • Proficient in product analytics and operating in both self-serve and enterprise B2B motions
  • Excellent storytelling and stakeholder influence; effective without formal authority
  • Language: Strong English required; Hebrew an advantage

Mandatory: Generative AI background

  • 5 years of hands-on experience designing, fine-tuning, or shipping generative systems (LLMs/multimodal, diffusion/GAN/VAEs, or RAG) that create novel text, image, video, audio, or 3D content at production quality
  • Demonstrated evaluation, alignment/safety, and productionization (serving, latency/cost optimization, observability) of these systems

Success Indicators (examples; finalized at kickoff)

  • Decision-grade experiment readouts that drive clear Go/No-Go calls
  • MVP/POC demonstrating activation, time-to-value, or willingness-to-pay with design partners
  • On “Go”: formal transition to GM, with an approved business case, resourcing plan, and operating model
  • Reusable playbooks adopted by core teams; improved cost-per-validated-learning
