We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, and visionary VP of R&D to lead and scale Five Sigma’s R&D organization, with a strong focus on AI-first, data-driven, and intelligent systems. This role is central to building and scaling an advanced SaaS platform powered by AI, while growing and managing distributed engineering teams in Israel and globally.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in building AI-powered products, scaling engineering organizations, and leading teams that deliver complex, production-grade AI systems at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Own the end-to-end R&D strategy, execution, and delivery of Five Sigma’s AI-powered SaaS platform
• Lead, mentor, and scale global R&D teams across Israel and international locations, including hiring, onboarding, and organizational design
• Start with direct, hands-on leadership of multiple R&D’s teams and gradually scale it while staying technically engaged.
• Build and evolve an R&D organization capable of delivering AI-first products at high scale, supporting rapid growth and increasing customer demand
• Drive the technical vision and architecture for AI/ML systems, including LLM-based, agentic, and data-driven capabilities
• Ensure production-grade AI systems that meet high standards of reliability, performance, security, and explainability
• Drive engineering excellence through clear, data-driven metrics for delivery speed, quality, reliability, and operational performance.
• Partner closely with Product, Data, and AI teams to translate business and customer needs into scalable AI solutions
• Establish best practices for developing, deploying, and monitoring AI systems in production (MLOps, CI/CD, evaluation, and observability)
• Balance rapid innovation with long-term platform stability and technical excellence
• Act as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy and execution
  
  

Requirements:

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in software development, including senior leadership roles
• Proven experience leading and scaling AI-driven R&D or engineering teams in a SaaS or cloud-based environment
• Strong technical background in, modern architectures, and cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with agentic LLM workflows across the entire SDLC and beyond.
• Demonstrated success managing distributed and international teams
• Experience scaling organizations and platforms through rapid growth (Series A–C preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and talent development skills
• Ability to bridge business goals with deep technical and AI-driven execution
  
  

You’ll Excel If You Have

• Experience building production AI systems in B2B SaaS products
• Background in data-heavy or regulated domains where trust, reliability, and safety are critical
• Experience designing AI platforms that balance automation, human-in-the-loop, and explainability
