About the position
As the Edge Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving our DevOps strategy for the development, deployment, and maintenance of virtual appliances deployed on customer sites. You will lead a geographically distributed team, applying DevOps principles to streamline and enhance our technical solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on technical contributions, all within a DevOps framework.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team in Israel and Ukraine, fostering collaboration, team development, and growth
- Automate and optimize the virtual appliance lifecycle using DevOps practices, ensuring CI/CD and IaC are core to deployment processes.
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of virtual appliance projects, ensuring alignment with goals and timelines.
- Provide technical expertise in developing and optimizing virtual appliances, ensuring high standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement infrastructure strategies to support high traffic and diverse customer needs.
- Oversee the monitoring of virtual appliance performance and lead efforts to resolve issues and enhance system efficiency.
- Collaborate with the field team to understand needs, provide support, and ensure seamless integration.
Who are you?
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role, preferably in a geographically distributed team environment.
- Experience in at least 2 development languages. (Goֿ/ Scala preferred)
- Extensive experience with microservice architectures in cloud-native environments.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts for container orchestration.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux systems and administration vmware.
- Proficiency with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with virtual appliances.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a distributed team effectively, with experience in handling cross-cultural communication and coordination.
- Highly dynamic, self-motivated, and quickly adapting to new information and technologies.
Preferred (but not mandatory) experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
- Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or senior technical roles.
- Knowledge of Linux networking tools such as iptables and tcpdump.
