Job Description

Your Career

Cortex products are using cutting-edge technologies to deliver and innovate fast, with attention to quality and details.

The majority of the Cortex engineering group is located in the TLV office, which allows us to operate at a high pace with short loops of decision making.

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join the Cortex platform backend group.

Our group focuses on developing, innovating and scaling the Cortex products, as well as the shared infrastructure and components of the Cortex platform.

Incident Management is one of the core domains across all Cortex products.

As the team manager, you will own end-to-end the backend development of all features, infrastructure and pipelines related to the incident management domain.

We are seeking a highly motivated manager with experience in building large-scale products.

We value a can-do attitude and passion for solving complex problems.

The ideal candidate will be capable of technically leading and innovating, someone from whom we can learn, and a great team member with whom we'll enjoy working.

Your Impact

  • End to end responsibility for the backend development life cycle including requirement analysis, design, development, deployment, and support
  • You will be leading a team, mentor and support team members to grow to be better professionals
  • You will drive ideas and initiatives, leading them from concepts to production
  • Work closely with peers across different teams and disciplines to shape solutions and integrate with other parts of the product

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, equivalent knowledge or equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams - Must
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience - Must
  • Experience in designing, building and maintaining a scalable server side application - Must
  • Experience with a variety of database technologies (Mysql / Redis / BigQuery / Elasticsearch) - an advantage
  • Experience in Go / Python - an advantage
  • Experience with GCP - an advantage
  • Experience with OS internals / Linux internals - an advantage
  • Technical knowledge in cyber security and networking - an advantage

Additional Information

The Team

Our engineering team is at the core of our products and connected directly to the mission of preventing cyberattacks. We are constantly innovating — challenging the way we, and the industry, think about cybersecurity. Our engineers don’t shy away from building products to solve problems no one has pursued before.

We define the industry instead of waiting for directions. We need individuals who feel comfortable in ambiguity, excited by the prospect of a challenge, and empowered by the unknown risks facing our everyday lives that are only enabled by a secure digital environment.

Our Commitment

We’re trailblazers that dream big, take risks, and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at accommodations@paloaltonetworks.com.
