THE ROLE

An opportunity to join in the phase of shaping Unit’s data products, technologies and pipelines. As a key member of this team, you will work with a variety of stakeholders and help translate concrete business requirements into working solutions that are able to process and transform large amounts of data to enable business-critical applications. The role includes architecting, implementing and maintaining Unit’s data solutions and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Unit’s engineers, data scientists, data analysts and product managers to deeply understand the potential value of big-data at Unit and assist in accurately forming big-data requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and optimize Unit’s big-data pipelines and ETL processes, utilizing optimal patterns, frameworks, standards and best practices.
  • Serve as one of the primary experts and participate in relevant forums to represent the technical aspects and implications on Unit’s big-data.
  • Contribute to data-related policies such as data governance, security, privacy, retention, versioning and more.
  • Assist in shaping Unit’s big-data roadmap and design existing solutions with a future-aware mindset that will serve as foundations to upcoming needs (e.g self-serve ETL building capabilities). Contribute to the initiatives backlog and drive projects to completion with guidance of relevant principal engineers.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  • 5+ years of proven experience in building production-ready data pipelines and ETLs. This includes implementing, deploying, monitoring and troubleshooting business-critical workloads.
  • Extensive experience with relational databases, schema design and complex SQL queries
  • Experience with design principles and implementations of data warehouses and data lakes
  • Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools
  • Experience with AWS Glue is an advantage
  • Experience with Redshift is an advantage
  • Good understanding of distributed systems and distributed data stores is an advantage
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-a-code alternatives is an advantage
  • Experience with Kubernetes is an advantage
