We are seeking a highly skilled and independent RFIC / Quantum Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will own a significant share of the microwave design, electromagnetic simulation, and physical layout that turns our quantum-processor architecture into fabricated silicon. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on problem-solving, innovation, and blazing new trails in quantum chip design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electromagnetic and circuit simulation of qubits, tunable couplers, and readout — including classical-to-quantum modeling, black-box quantization, and efficient EM workflows.
  • Develop new methodologies for simulating quantum circuits and scaling them to large qubit counts.
  • Design and optimize the on-chip electromagnetic environment across the processor.

·        Collaborate with fabrication and measurement teams in development of innovative fabrication and 3D-integration processes.

  • Dive into quantum circuits and take them from concept through physical layout to tapeout.

Qualifications

  • Strong microwave/RF design and electromagnetic simulation experience and familiarity with EM simulation tools (HFSS, Sonnet, COMSOL, etc.)
  • Physical layout / GDS experience with a design-for-fabrication mindset.
  • MSc or PhD in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Working knowledge quantum computing and superconducting-qubit and quantum circuit design is a plus.
  • Programming for design automation is a plus.
