Axon Pulse delivers cutting-edge AI and signal processing solutions for mission-critical defense platforms. Our work spans applicative R&D for client projects, defence-tech products and AI platform tooling such as specialized data analytics tools, deep learning infrastructure, and agentic orchestration layers.
About the Role
We're looking for a versatile Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our R&D group. In this role, you'll own the software engineering side of client projects and platform initiatives. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role: you'll design end-to-end, make the architectural calls, and see your work deployed into real operational environments — often under strict security, latency, and reliability constraints.
What You’ll Do
- Software Ownership: Own the software engineering lifecycle and productize research for client projects and R&D initiatives, from initial implementation through integration and deployment.
- Client & Edge Integration: Deploy and integrate into client environments, ranging from secure/air-gapped on-prem infrastructure to resource-constrained edge devices.
- Platform & Application Development: Architect, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, microservices, web applications, and standalone software across our product suite — including databases, caching, async processing, and containerized/distributed components.
- Data Visualization: Build high-performance visualizations for domain data such as radar point clouds, range-Doppler maps, tracking, and others.
- Agentic & LLM Integration: Build and extend applications with agentic capabilities, tool execution, retrieval pipelines, LLM endpoints, and interactive AI workflows.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of software engineering, with demonstrated ability to independently take software projects or POCs from implementation through client-side integration.
- Backend & Full-Stack Engineering: Strong software engineering skills, preferably with Python backend development, API design, and experience building backend services and web-based applications.
- System Design: Solid understanding of software architecture, service boundaries, databases, caching, asynchronous processing, service communication, and application design.
- Deployment & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, basic networking concepts, and deploying applications into production or client environments.
- Data & Application Infrastructure: Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, Redis, queues, caching, or similar backend infrastructure.
Nice to Have
- Agentic & LLM engineering: agentic frameworks or tool-execution harnesses (LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, LlamaIndex), RAG and data-ingestion pipelines, agent state/memory and context engineering, LLM observability (Langfuse, OpenTelemetry).
- Infrastructure & constrained deployment: Kubernetes / OpenShift / Helm, on-prem or air-gapped delivery with enterprise auth (Keycloak, LDL AP/AD, OAuth2), local model serving, and optimization for edge hardware.
- Frontend & data visualization: experience with React, TypeScript, or similar high-performance visualization technologies (D3.js, Plotly, Canvas API, WebGL).
- Additional: Active security clearance, Background in defense, signal processing, or integrating software into secure or classified client environments.
