Position overview

We’re looking for a Technical Lead to provide strong technical leadership across key initiatives and help evolve our engineering platform as we scale.

In this role, you will lead the technical aspects of complex projects, driving design decisions, guiding implementation, and ensuring high engineering standards. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams and cross-functional partners to build scalable, reliable systems while continuously improving our technical foundations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the technical design and architecture of complex, business-critical systems and projects.
• Drive key technical decisions and provide hands-on leadership across the engineering lifecycle, from design through production.
• Identify architectural gaps, scalability bottlenecks, and technical risks, and drive pragmatic solutions.
• Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and developer productivity.
• Take ownership of reducing technical debt and modernizing existing systems in a structured and pragmatic way.
• Remain deeply hands-on, contributing to the design and development of production-grade software.
• Serve as a technical authority and go-to expert for complex engineering challenges.
• Mentor and elevate other engineers by promoting strong engineering standards, design practices, and technical excellence.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and tools where they can meaningfully improve development velocity, reliability, or product capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with Product and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.

Qualifications

Required

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant experience in technical leadership or leading complex engineering initiatives.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and scaling complex, production-grade systems.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python in large-scale production environments.
• Strong system design and architectural skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions and balance short-term business needs with long-term technical strategy.
• Experience working with complex, evolving systems, including scalability challenges, legacy components, and technical debt.
• Strong ownership mindset and the ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to dive deeply into complex technical challenges.

Preferred

• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering domains or teams.
• Hands-on Full-Stack development experience and the ability to understand and contribute across the stack.
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: GCP, Django, React, React Native.
• Experience working in a fast-paced product or startup environment.
