The Role
You’ll lead Sensor-HW and Simulation-setup solutions for our data-collection and validation platforms. These rigs are the foundation for high-quality datasets — and high-quality datasets are the foundation for strong algorithm development results.
You will design, develop, and build electro-optic rigs, sensor setups, and validation infrastructure, while serving as the technical bridge between Gentex Zeeland engineering teams and GTI Israel.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and build electro-optic simulation rigs: imaging sensors, optical systems, embedded boards, in-car setups, and driving-simulator setups.
- Own the HW/setup architecture end-to-end — from concept through deployment and maintenance.
- Bridge Gentex Zeeland technical knowledge into the GTI D&V team.
- Perform sensor calibration, setup configuration, and quality checks using Python.
- Ensure automotive-grade quality controls and configuration management.
Must-Haves
- Practical Engineering diploma (הנדסאי) or B.Sc. in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
- Hands-on fundamentals: board bring-up, HW configuration, and system integration.
- Working knowledge of Python and Linux.
- Fluent English.
Strong Advantages
- Experience with imaging sensors, camera calibration, or electro-optical configuration.
- Familiarity with communication protocols: USB, CAN, UART, I²C, SPI.
- Experience with microcontrollers, FPGA, or embedded Linux.
- Firmware flashing, driver debugging, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups.
Who You Are — This Is What Actually Matters
- Go-Getter — You see what needs to happen and make it happen.
- Independent — You own problems end-to-end with minimal hand-holding.
- Problem Solver — Complex cross-domain issues are where you shine.
- Great Communicator — Clear with HW and SW people, locally and globally.
- Collaborator — You make the people around you better.
