Senior Backend Engineer | AI, Scalable Systems
Join an advanced AI unit operating in the VISINT (Visual Intelligence) domain, focused on developing and deploying cutting-edge models for analyzing Earth Observation (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite imagery.

What You'll Do?
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable Backend services and APIs.
- Lead the design and implementation of modern microservices architectures and distributed systems.
- Manage the full data lifecycle, including integration with diverse data sources and large-scale satellite datasets.
- Build and optimize data pipelines that power AI and ML workflows.
- Deploy and manage services on Kubernetes-based distributed infrastructure.
- Improve system performance, scalability, availability, and latency across mission-critical environments.
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions to ensure production reliability.
- Collaborate closely with AI Researchers, ML Engineers, and DevOps teams to operationalize advanced AI capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer / Software Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.
- Hands-on experience designing APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong background working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Deep understanding of scalability, reliability, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with EO/SAR satellite data.
- Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience building real-time or low-latency systems.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and AI model integration.
