About the Role

Join a forward-thinking engineering team as a Test Automation Engineer where you will gain foundational expertise in cloud infrastructure and modern quality practices. This role is positioned to allow you to grow quickly at the crossroads of Test Automation and Cloud Engineering, requiring you to actively contribute to the stability and evolution of our AWS-based testing environment. You will be responsible for hands-on work—containerizing workloads with Docker, developing features in our Playwright (TS) framework, and researching opportunities to integrate emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Next-Gen Framework: Actively contribute to the development of our automation world using Playwright, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams: developers, devops, platform and QA.
  • Scalability: Develop code contributions and help implement architectural patterns to support cross-product microservices.
  • Data & Performance: Execute and maintain SQL/NoSQL scripts for data validation and assist in running performance/stress testing to ensure system stability.
  • Design and develop robust internal applications, including web portals (BE/FE), to accelerate the usage of automation tools by RnD teams.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Assist in maintaining test environments using Terraform within AWS.
  • Containerization: Use Docker to ensure our test execution environments are consistent across local dev and CI/CD.
  • AI Integration: Research and prototype AI-driven tools for self-healing tests, automated test data generation, and intelligent bug analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Act as the bridge between Platform and QA, documenting best practices and assisting other engineers with automation tools.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and Playwright.
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience, or equivalent academic projects, in:
  • JavaScript / TS
  • One or more of Python, C#, Java, or Go
  • Familiarity with Bash or PowerShell
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience in utilizing AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor) and exploring the integration of LLMs/AI tools into the testing workflow.
  • Experience with tools for API testing (i.e. postman, swagger).
  • Strong knowledge of DOM and locators (i.e. XPATH, CSS, Ids, etc) and HTML, XML.
  • Cloud & Infra: Familiarity with cloud concepts, preferably AWS (managed services), and an interest in learning Terraform.
  • Containers: Hands-on experience with Docker for local test execution.
  • CI/CD: Basic experience with continuous integration tools like Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Interest in "Self-healing" automation and AI-augmented visual testing.
  • Academic Background: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
