About The Role:
Be part of the team developing Falcon Data Protection, which safeguards organizations' sensitive data through advanced data loss prevention capabilities integrated seamlessly into the Falcon platform. This innovative solution combines machine learning, policy enforcement, and real-time detection to protect against data breaches while maintaining endpoint performance and user productivity.
This is a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position on our Falcon Data Protection product development team, focusing on our browser extension technology for endpoint security. As a key contributor to the team, you will architect and implement end-to-end test automation for a browser extension that operates across multiple browser types, ensuring robust data protection directly within the browser. You'll own the testing strategy for the full extension lifecycle — from installation and policy enforcement to egress detection — while working closely with sensor and cloud teams to validate seamless integration across the entire stack. We're seeking a talented engineer who thrives on technical challenges, takes ownership of their work, and contributes to a culture where quality is paramount.
Location: Hybrid — Tel Aviv, Israel
Success In This Role Means:
- Designing and owning the end-to-end test strategy for a browser extension that enforces policies across multiple browsers types and operating systems
- Building reliable, maintainable test automation using Playwright and modern TypeScript tooling
- Validating data egress scenarios, ensuring policy enforcement works correctly in real-world browser workflows
- Driving cross-browser compatibility testing on both Windows and macOS platforms
- Collaborating across sensor, cloud, and extension teams to ensure seamless integration and quality across the full data protection pipeline
- Leading test initiatives, mentoring team members, and raising the bar for testing practices within the team
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with a team of engineers to support and maintain a culture of high product quality and excellence
- Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for the browser extension, covering installation, lifecycle management, content script behavior, background workers
- Build and maintain E2E test automation using Playwright, validating data loss prevention capabilities across different browsers and platforms
- Develop tests for extension-to-sensor communication, ensuring policies are correctly enforced end-to-end
- Drive cross-browser testing, identifying and debugging browser-specific issues
- Manage test infrastructure including CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, ensuring fast and reliable feedback loops
- Use MDM tools (Jamf, Intune) to deploy and validate enterprise extension distribution across Windows and macOS environments
- Lead rigorous test and product code reviews with an eye towards improving reliability, security, and maintainability
- Debug complex cross-platform issues found through testing or customer cases to identify root cause and enhance test coverage
- Collaborate with product and release management to control risk, improve quality, and streamline release cycles
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of hands-on SDET/test automation development experience with end-to-end test frameworks (Playwright or similar)
- Computer science degree or equivalent experience
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency
- Experience testing across both Windows and macOS platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Experience working with MDM tools to deploy enterprise products (Jamf, Intune, or similar)
- Python as a secondary language — ability to read, write, and maintain Python-based test utilities
- Understanding of process communication and error handling in system-level integrations
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Design and implement comprehensive test strategies
- Lead test initiatives and mentor team members
- Work effectively in a globally distributed team
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to various audiences
- Proven track record in product development and release cycles
Bonus Points:
- Experience testing browser extensions (Manifest V3 preferred)
- Familiarity with Chrome DevTools Protocol and debugging extension behavior
