We're seeking an exceptional Vice President of Engineering to lead an engineering organization and shape the technical future of the platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will oversee multiple engineering teams comprising directors, engineering managers, and developers who build mission-critical enterprise software for the insurance industry. This is a rare opportunity to drive technical strategy and execution at a company that sits at the intersection of financial services, AI/ML, and enterprise SaaS.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the Engineering Leadership, to define and execute the long-term technical strategy and product roadmap
  • Drive architectural decisions for complex enterprise deployments across cloud infrastructure, data services, and AI/ML platforms
  • Champion engineering excellence, establishing standards for code quality, system reliability, and operational excellence
  • Set engineering goals that directly support company strategy and present progress to executive leadership and board of directors

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and inspire a large team of engineers across multiple disciplines, including platform engineering, data engineering, AI/ML, and product development
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineering directors and senior leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Develop talent through coaching, career development, and succession planning
  • Build high-performing teams through strategic hiring and organizational design
  • Create and maintain a culture that attracts and retains exceptional technical talent
  • Champion Management 3.0 principles and modern engineering practices

Operational Excellence

  • Drive agile delivery practices that balance speed, quality, and innovation
  • Implement metrics-driven decision making with clear KPIs for team performance, system reliability, and delivery predictability
  • Oversee critical production systems serving Fortune 100 clients with stringent SLA requirements
  • Lead incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Implement and optimize engineering processes that scale with organizational growth

Technical Innovation

  • Ensure architectural excellence in microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies
  • Foster innovation in areas such as real-time pricing optimization, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in enterprise software, AI/ML, and financial services technology

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to ensure engineering solutions meet customer needs
  • Work with Professional Services teams to ensure successful customer implementations
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and influence product direction based on market needs
  • Represent engineering in executive discussions on company strategy and business development

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field (Master's degree or MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 8 years in leadership roles
  • 5+ years managing managers (Directors, Engineering Managers) in large organizations
  • Proven track record building and scaling engineering organizations in high-growth SaaS or enterprise software companies
  • Experience with mission-critical, highly available systems serving enterprise customers

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code
  • Experience with AI/ML systems, data platforms, and analytics at scale
  • Understanding enterprise integration patterns and industry standards (ACORD, ISO, etc.)
  • Familiarity with insurance domain highly valued

Leadership Skills

  • Exceptional people leadership with a proven ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English
  • Strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into technical roadmaps
  • Track record of driving organizational change and scaling engineering operations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
