Cust2Mate is a leading retail technology company and the developer of one of the world's most advanced shopper engagement (smart shopping cart) platforms. We digitize the in-store shopping journey end to end, creating a frictionless omnichannel personalized shopping experience, partnering with major retail chains globally in a B2B2C model.

C2M intends to be a tier1 player in the in- store digital eco system, partnering and leading the integration with other players in the field including electronic shelf labeling, unified commerce SW systems, loose produce scales, self-service kiosks, etc..

About the Role

We are looking for a CTO to lead Cust2Mate's technology direction and end-to-end technology execution. The CTO will lead the technology organization, ensuring that engineering disciplines work as one system and that technology execution is repeatable, robust, modular, scalable, and sustainable. The role combines strategic technology leadership with hands-on ownership of execution, integration, reliability, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the company's short- and long-term technology vision, translating business, product, and customer requirements into clear technological direction and an executable technology roadmap.
  • Lead the multidisciplinary engineering organization across software, hardware, DevOps/infrastructure, security, and other technical functions, through strong functional leaders.
  • Own end-to-end technology architecture and system integration, ensuring hardware, software, data, infrastructure, and operational components work together as one stable and scalable product.
  • Own end-to-end technical execution and delivery, from engineering planning and integration through readiness of the complete product for deployment and customer use.
  • Drive engineering velocity and delivery effectiveness: establish the operating mechanisms, standards, and cross-functional workflows needed to improve predictability, remove bottlenecks, and scale execution.
  • Own platform availability, performance, reliability, resilience, and scalability, with security and compliance embedded as first-class technology requirements.
  • Establish effective hardware/software integration processes and cross-disciplinary engineering workflows, including clear interfaces, integration practices, and technical ownership.
  • Set organizational technology standards and engineering practices across architecture, DevOps, security, quality, reliability, documentation, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead incident response and drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with the VP Product to translate business and customer needs into technology implications, priorities, and release plans. Product strategy, prioritization, and customer-value definition remain independent of the CTO organization.
  • Drive strategic readiness for future capabilities, including retail media: identify market and customer requirements, assess technology implications, build the required data and technology foundations, and shape future capabilities such as measurement, attribution, optimization, and integrations.
  • Lead functional innovation across hardware, software, and operational systems—identifying technologies and approaches that enhance product functionality, customer value, and differentiation—and lead experiments and proof-of-concepts (POCs).
  • Partner with HR to build the organization for scale: recruit and retain talent, develop strong functional leaders and managers, clarify accountability, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Represent Cust2Mate's technology capabilities with strategic customers, partners, and vendors, including customer-facing technical discussions and complex global deployments and integrations.
  • Lead internal and external technology communication and provide clear, credible technology perspectives to the executive team.

Leadership Profile

The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of technology experience, including at least 8 years in engineering leadership roles, with experience leading senior managers and multidisciplinary technology organizations. The CTO will combine deep engineering credibility with strong operational leadership. They will set the “what” - technology direction, priorities, standards, and expected outcomes, while empowering the VPs and functional leaders to own the “how” and day-to-day execution within their domains.

Requirements:

  • Deep technical and engineering background, particularly in software and infrastructure, combined with experience working with hardware-integrated products.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations across multiple technical disciplines, including software and hardware.
  • Strong operational leadership experience: execution, integration, reliability, delivery, and organizational engineering processes.
  • Significant experience building and scaling complex SaaS or platform-based products, ideally in environments with demanding availability and reliability requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex hardware/software integration challenges and convert multidisciplinary requirements into coherent technical architecture and execution plans.
  • Experience building reusable, modular, scalable, and sustainable products and engineering systems.
  • Experience in growth-stage / scale-up companies and in building organizations for scale.
  • Experience managing managers and diverse technical teams, including Software, Hardware, DevOps/Infrastructure, Data, and/or Security.
  • Ability to translate business strategy, product requirements, and customer needs into technology direction and an executable roadmap.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and experience working with customers, partners, and business leadership.
  • Global experience deploying, integrating, or operating complex technology products across multiple sites or markets.

Significant Advantage

  • Experience in B2B2C environments.
  • Experience in retail technology, retail media, AdTech, or adjacent domains.
  • Experience building data infrastructure and data-driven technology capabilities.
  • Experience in IoT, embedded systems, smart devices, or other hardware/software integrated products.
