A leading company developing advanced hybrid propulsion systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead its engineering activities and team.

This is a senior engineering leadership role with hands-on responsibility. The Head of Engineering is the company’s primary engineering authority for execution, responsible for system engineering, multidisciplinary coordination, and delivery of complex products from development through production.

The role works in close collaboration with the CTO on technology and long-term vision, while owning day-to-day engineering leadership, system definition, and execution.

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electronics & PCB design, embedded systems, software, and integration).
• Serve as the lead engineering authority for execution, system realization, and engineering decision-making.
• Take hands-on responsibility for system engineering, including requirements, interfaces, integration, and verification.
• Drive engineering activities from concept through development, validation, and transition to production.
• Lead design reviews and technical discussions.
• Work directly with customer engineering teams and leading aerospace and defense industries in Israel and globally.
• Foster a strong can-do engineering culture with high ownership, professionalism, and accountability.

• B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Aerospace or related) – mandatory.
• 8+ years of experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Proven experience in engineering leadership or team management roles.
• Strong background in system engineering and complex product development.
• Experience in aerospace and/or defense companies – strong advantage.
• Experience with regulated or safety-critical systems – advantage.
• High-level English (technical documentation and communication).

• Strong system-level thinking with the ability to connect architecture, details, and execution.
• Hands-on approach with readiness to dive into technical challenges when needed.
• Ability to guide, review, and challenge engineering work across multiple disciplines.
• Structured, methodical problem-solving and decision-making.
• Clear technical communication with engineers, management, and customers.
• Professional leadership style with ownership, accountability, and a practical can-do mindset.
