Why this role?

As the Engineering Manager for the Guardrails team, you will lead the group responsible for Snyk’s high-leverage logic layer: the Policy Engine and approval workflows. You won't just manage people; you will oversee the systems that govern how risk is accepted or blocked across our entire AI-native Developer Security Platform.

You will guide your team through a massive architectural evolution, migrating legacy services into a high-scale, event-driven data pipeline capable of enriching millions of security findings in real-time. This is a pivotal leadership role at the intersection of scanning engines, data platforms, and developer tooling.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Mentor: Manage a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of "One Team" and "Care Deeply".
• Drive Execution: Oversee the development of new codebases and the expansion of existing systems to streamline automated security workflows.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with product management and cross-functional teams (CLI/IDE, Data Platform) to influence the platform's roadmap and ensure unified governance.
• Architectural Oversight: Support the team in solving complex identity and persistence challenges, ensuring risk decisions remain consistent across branches and repositories.
  
  

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of experience directly managing senior engineers.
• Strong background in software engineering, preferably in more than one coding language.
• Experience in a high-growth SaaS environment and experience delivering distributed, event-driven systems and managing complex migrations.
• Deep understanding of developer workflows and a passion for building tools that boost productivity while reducing risk.
