Deloitte Israel is seeking a talented and passionate Senior FinOps Engineer to join our innovative Technology & Cloud team. This is an outstanding opportunity to become a core member of Deloitte Israel’s FinOps practice—partnering with leading organizations in Israel and globally to maximize the business value of cloud investments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
What you will do:
- Lead comprehensive analysis and management of multi-cloud costs for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated dashboards, KPIs, and unit economics for both technology and finance stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver regular cost reports and executive summaries—analyzing trends, variances, budget vs. actuals, and key cost drivers.
- Drive hands-on optimization initiatives across compute, storage, data transfer, databases, and managed services.
- Design and implement strategies for cost savings, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, committed use discounts, and enterprise agreements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed cost efficiency best practices into cloud architectures (including rightsizing, scheduling, autoscaling, storage tiering, containers, and serverless).
- Define and enforce advanced tagging frameworks, cost allocation models, and showback/chargeback processes tailored to clients’ business structures.
- Establish FinOps guardrails, policies, cadence for ongoing cost reviews, and anomaly detection processes.
- Partner closely with FP&A and finance teams to enable strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis for cloud spend.
- Support the development of business cases for cloud migrations, GenAI initiatives, and new data platforms.
- Lead workshops and stakeholder sessions, engaging with engineering, finance, procurement, and senior leadership teams.
- Drive proposal development, contribute to points of view, and help build Deloitte’s FinOps accelerators (tools, templates, playbooks).
- Mentor and coach junior FinOps engineers and consultants, fostering professional growth across the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading end-to-end FinOps or cloud cost optimization projects in complex, global environments.
- Hands-on expertise with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated cost optimization tools.
- Advanced analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel, BI tools, and/or SQL, and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, cost allocation, tagging strategies, and unit economics.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability, with a track record of managing client engagements from design through execution.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to senior/executive audiences.
- Experience mentoring and developing colleagues or direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within large, complex organizations.
- Familiarity with Data, DevOps, or GenAI domains.
- Relevant FinOps or Cloud certifications (FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications).
