Our main Engineering challenges at Teads

  • Build efficient and easy-to-use web products used by thousands of users working for the world’s most premium publishers, advertisers, and agencies.
  • Rich and diverse tech stack and system architecture to optimize for performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency. We use mostly Scala and TypeScript, among others.
  • Working in a very high-traffic environment (2.2 billion users per month, 100 billion events per day) with low latency and high availability constraints (2 million requests per second, responses in less than 150 milliseconds).
  • Management of large datasets with milliseconds order of magnitude access time, to compute in a near real-time complex auction resolution algorithm (18 million predictions per second).
  • A fast-changing environment where we continuously collaborate with Product teams and constantly adapt our Cloud infrastructure for new features and Products.
  • Bring a wide diversity of profiles to the same level of quality and knowledge
  • Work in an international environment with offices located in Israel, Slovenia and France.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated BI Engineer to join our team.

This is a pivotal role focused on scaling our global data capabilities, optimizing our data architecture, and maintaining governance over our core BI platform, Looker.

What will you do?

I. Platform Governance & Enablement

  • Serve as the Looker Site Administrator and primary owner of governance, security, and access controls for the entire company.
  • Drive and enforce best practices across data transformation processes, data models, and semantic layers within the BI space.
  • Engage with the analyst community to understand critical workflows, advocate best practices, and communicate standards.

II. Innovation, Orchestration, and AI Enablement

  • Orchestrate solutions to automate major workflows across the data stack, significantly improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
  • Deep dive into AI capabilities and emerging technologies to enable a more self-served approach for business users to interact with and derive value from data.
  • Work to unify multiple BI tools into managed cloud native solutions, ensuring scalability and velocity.

III. Data Architecture & Optimization

  • Design, build, and optimize robust data architecture and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines.
  • Ensure data models are highly accessible and performant for Business Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and end business users.
  • Create and support the structure for standardized data models that serve as the single source of truth (semantic layer) for end-user reporting.

Drive standards in data reliability, data integrity, documentation, and data governance, enabling accurate, consistent, and trustworthy data sets and BI products.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in a BI Engineering/Analytics or Data Engineering role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Data Skills: Proven deep expertise in querying and manipulating large datasets using complex SQL (including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning).
  • Cloud Expertise: Hands on knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS or GCP), including familiarity with core storage or compute services.
  • Communication: Complete fluency and comfort in verbal and written English to effectively collaborate in a global team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data Modeling: Hands-on experience working with Dimensional Models (e.g., Star/Snowflake schema) and Data Marts in both traditional data warehouses and advanced analytics domains.
  • Cloud Data Warehousing: Proficiency with cloud-native analytical databases, such as Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Orchestration: Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer, or Oozie).
  • BI Tooling: Hands-on knowledge and expertise with data visualization tools like Looker (LookML development), Looker Studio, and/or Tableau.
  • ETL/Data Transformation: Experience with modern ETL/ELT practices and data modeling tools like dbt (Data Build Tool) or SQLmesh.
