About Lowental Hybrid

Lowental Hybrid is a leading innovator in hybrid propulsion systems for UAVs, combining electric and internal combustion technologies to deliver performance, reliability, and efficiency at altitude. We are expanding our engineering team to support the transition from design to scalable production.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on NPI Engineer with a strong background in electronics to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between R&D and production, practicing DFx, bringing knowledge to the company, managing product configuration, documentation, and production readiness, while also actively contributing to design decisions across disciplines—including mechanics, control systems, and software.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test PCB layouts and schematics using industry-standard tools
  • Own and manage a PLC through all it’s stages, engineering BOMs, production files, and product configurations across design revisions and production stages.
  • Generate and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including assembly, inspection and ATP instructions, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform hands-on assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing of prototypes
  • Run and test engines, debug and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues during prototyping and testing phases
  • Support production, manage MRB’s and solve problems for assurance of supply. 
  • Actively participate in design reviews with mechanical, electronics, control, and software. 
  • Work closely with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure efficient data transition. 
  • Maintain version control, change history, and traceability across hardware configurations.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related field – must
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics hardware development – must
  • Experience in NPI, electronics integration, or hardware product development – must
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing, including PCB fabrication, assembly and testing processes – must
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary products, including mechanical integration and embedded software considerations – advantage
  • xperience in UAV, aerospace, or defense sectors – advantage
Key Skills
  • PCB design and schematic development using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium)
  • Hands-on hardware prototyping: assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing
  • Debugging and troubleshooting of hardware and firmware in lab and test environments
  • Firmware development skills – strong advantage
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, sensor integration, or power electronics – strong advantage
  • Proficiency with design and documentation tools: Altium, SolidWorks, Git, PLM/PDM systems
  • Technical documentation writing: schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly and ATP instructions
  • Version control and configuration management across hardware revisions
  • Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, software, and control teams
  • Working with suppliers/manufacturers for production readiness and DFx
  • Strong communication skills and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
