As VP of R&D at Oktopost, you’ll lead and grow a talented team of engineers across multiple squads. Your mission: foster a culture of ownership, trust, and excellence while developing strong leaders within the team. You'll be responsible for translating product and business goals into a clear technical roadmap, ensuring high-quality delivery through scalable architecture and sound engineering practices.

You’ll work closely with Product, Design, QA, and GTM teams to align priorities and streamline execution. From sprint planning to strategic decisions around build vs. buy, your leadership will directly impact the speed and quality of our product development. This role demands a sharp focus on operational excellence—tracking KPIs, removing delivery bottlenecks, and continuously improving throughput and predictability across the organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles (including VP-level).
• Proven success managing engineering teams in a fast-growing SaaS company.
• Strong technical foundation in modern web technologies, system design, and architecture.
• Experience growing and mentoring senior engineers and team leads.
• Deep understanding of Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, and modern engineering practices.
• Strategic thinker with sharp business acumen and a bias for action.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Experience working closely with Product, QA, and UX teams.
