Position Overview
We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced
Kubernetes Engineering Manager to lead a team of super-talented engineers in building scalable, cloud-native solutions.
This role combines strong technical leadership with hands-on engineering work—perfect for someone who thrives on both people and code.
As the manager, you’ll oversee the team’s day-to-day operations, ensure smooth sprint execution, promote effective use of Jira, and maintain a high standard of technical excellence. You’ll also be deeply involved in solving complex technical challenges using
Go and
Python in a modern cloud-native environment.
This is a hybrid role.
What You’ll Own
- Lead the Kubernetes engineering team working on Zesty’s core, flagship product
- Drive high-impact, cloud-native development initiatives
- Shape technical architecture and direction alongside the Tech Lead
- Mentor team members and support their growth
- Oversee sprint planning, execution, and Jira-based task tracking
- Tackle technical and organizational challenges proactively
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or engineering management role
- 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience with Go or Python
- Proven experience in developing Kubernetes controllers, including expertise in scheduling, autoscaling (HPA, VPA), and resource management
- Experience building data pipelines or metric analysis systems—especially for performance or cost optimization—is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and understanding of compute workload pricing models is a plus

- Experience contributing to open-source projects
- Background in cloud-native architecture, especially with AWS
