Position Overview:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, deploy, and manage scalable systems in our cloud and on-prem environments. You'll implement infrastructure as code, monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and ensure high availability. You'll be a key player in our development and delivery processes, contributing to the company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable, and highly available systems in cloud or on-prem environments.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration. Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Define and implement monitoring and observability tools for production systems.
  • Respond to incidents by diagnosing performance issues, outages, or unexpected behavior, and work towards quick resolutions with a root-cause analysis.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and bottlenecks to fine-tune services for maximum efficiency and uptime.
  • Contribute to the improvement of security best practices and policies, including encryption, firewalls, etc.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 availability of critical services
  • Be a part of the critical path in a fast-growing startup's development and delivery processes.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps (or Site Reliability) Engineer.
  • Core understanding of Linux-based Operating Systems
  • Solid knowledge of networking and security best practices. (A Must)
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL/OLAP) and their optimization techniques.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond to critical incidents swiftly.
  • Proficient with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (K8s) for managing microservices and application workloads. (A Must)
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Strong understanding of security and networking fundamentals.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code tools.


Advantage if you have:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experienced with configuration management systems
  • Experienced with DB Administration such as Postgres/MYSQL/Clickhouse
  • Experienced with deploying frameworks of software bus using stream-processing such as Kafka.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus/Grafana, ELK.
  • Experience with repository manager, preferably Artifactory/Nexus
