Who are we?

Orca AI is a unique maritime-tech startup in Tel Aviv. We develop a revolutionary AI platform that changes the way ship captains navigate at sea and improve the safety of the shipping industry. We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our R&D team.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack.
  • Be part of significant projects and major features.
  • Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
  • Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management.
  • Work as part of a growing, fast-paced, and highly-flexible team.

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, at least 2 years in Python
  • Strong background in back-end technologies, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and message queue systems.

Plus but not required:

  • Experience with AWS based systems
  • Experience with distributed architecture, Microservices ,K8s, REST API
  • Experience with the following technologies - Gitlab, InfluxDB, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Pytorch, AWS (SQS, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS)
  • Experience working in a CI/CD environment
