Matrix is hiring a Senior C Developer for a long-term assignment with Imperva’s Cloud WAF Real-Time Proxy team.

Join the team developing the core capabilities of Imperva’s SaaS WAF & CDN product—a large-scale security platform that processes customer traffic and runs multiple security engines and rules.

This role offers hands-on ownership of complex application-level C development on Linux, with a strong focus on networking, performance, and production reliability.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and test core features for an enterprise WAF/CDN solution.

• Develop application-level C software in a Linux multithreaded environment.

• Own features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and production troubleshooting.

• Investigate network traffic and analyze packet captures to diagnose complex issues.

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps colleagues in Israel and India.

• Use AI-assisted development tools and critically review AI-generated code.

• Research and introduce technologies that improve the product.

What you’ll bring:

• At least 3 years of professional, hands-on C development experience.

• Strong experience developing user-space applications on Linux.

• Proven experience with networking or security solutions and a solid understanding of TCP/IP.

• Hands-on experience capturing and analyzing network packets and PCAP files.

• Experience with multithreaded programming.

• Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, and web application security.

• Experience using AI development tools, such as Claude.

• Excellent English communication skills—daily meetings and ongoing collaboration are conducted in English.

• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and independent learning skills.

Your background should include application-level C development on Linux beyond kernel or driver development.

Advantage:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.

Location & engagement:

• Rehovot, next to the train station.

• Hybrid: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

• Long-term contractor engagement: an initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension.
