Role Overview

As a Data Engineer at Crowded, you’ll be integral to refining and enhancing Data Infrastructure. Working closely with sales, marketing, customer success, and finance teams, you’ll ensure that our data pipeline and procedures are efficient, data-driven, and aligned with strategic growth objectives. Leveraging your expertise in data engineering, you’ll provide valuable insights that drive key company metrics, revenue-generating behaviors, support team performance, and optimize our data systems to align with company-wide objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering & Management: Design, manage, and optimize robust data pipelines using SQL, BigQuery, and GCP suite. Maintain and improve data models and ETL processes to ensure accurate and accessible data across departments.
  • Analytics & Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards in Looker or similar tools to monitor revenue metrics, customer engagement, and pipeline health, enabling real-time insights for various teams.
  • Business-Driven Data Strategy: Collaborate with product teams to identify company metrics and revenue-generating behaviors and engineer systems that support them. Build alerts, generate data, and create reports to promote behaviors that align with Crowded’s North Star metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Data Support: Ensure data is available and actionable for marketing (lead acquisition), finance and sales (performance tracking and reporting), and customer success (enhanced offerings for customers).
  • System Management: Oversee and configure our CRM and other tools, with familiarity in Salesforce, Intercom, and HubSpot, optimizing them to support operational needs.
  • Performance Measurement: Implement metrics and dashboards to track and improve team performance, creating clear insights for stakeholders across departments.
  • Project Management: Lead or contribute to automation and data integration projects that enhance data operations, with a focus on improving data accessibility and accuracy.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in data engineering or a related field, ideally within Fintech, SaaS, and/or transactional business models.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, GCP data suite, and Python. Experience working with Looker.
  • Integrations: Good working knowledge of Salesforce, Intercom, Zendesk, and HubSpot.
  • Business Mindset: Deep understanding of North Star metrics and how to engineer systems to support them. Proven ability to identify data-driving behaviors and optimize processes to promote them.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to work with complex data sets to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and support strategic goals.
  • Problem Solving: Track record of identifying and resolving inefficiencies in data workflows with data-driven solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Able to communicate technical and strategic concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
