We’re looking for a
Data Architect who has a passion for data and technologies to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data solutions. Join our dynamic team to shape the architecture of cutting-edge big data and machine learning projects.
This role will report to R&D Director.
Why is this role so important at Similarweb?
Our R&D team transforms petabytes of data into digital insights for our customers, on a daily basis. This means that we are always on the lookout for new ways to make those processes more efficient, reliable, and scalable and make our big data engineers more professional.
We are looking for a Data Architect to define the optimal way of processing data, design and lead complex data architecture solutions within our group and with our R&D partners and interfaces, be part of a team of principle engineers that provides guidance and mentoring to all of our group engineers, conduct POCs on cutting edge technologies to improve our infrastructure, leading cross group infrastructure features, and be the focal for architecture solution with other groups architects.
You will impact the work of dozens of engineers and data scientists in Similarweb, by defining and implementing most suitable ways of data processing and influence our customers by providing top notch infrastructure for a flawless data delivery.
So, what will you be doing all day?
Your role as
Data Architect means your daily responsibilities may include:
- Define and implement standards and best practices for data engineering teams
- Lead improvements to our data processing infrastructure
- Research, POC and implement new data technologies
- Improve our Data Lake
- Mentor data processing and data delivery teams
- Design and lead complex data architecture within the group and with our r&d partners
This Is The Perfect Job For Someone Who
Holds a BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent - must.
- Has at least 3 years of experience as a Data Architect /or Team Lead / or Principal Big Data Engineer- over a group of minimum 15 or more developers - a Must !
Has at least 5 years of experience as data engineers in a big data environment
- Deep knowledge and understanding of modern data stacks and technologies
- Deep knowledge and understanding of AWS cloud, Spark, Airflow- Must !
- Sage Maker, Databricks - an advantage
- Good knowledge of databases: relational, key value stores, document DBs and analytical DBs
- Experience with ML ops - big advantage.
- Have excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills with the ability to provide constant dialog between engineering teams
