Windward is seeking a skilled and passionate Data Scientist to join our AI group.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver with a deep understanding of data science, capable of taking projects from concept to production.

What will you do?

• Develop and implement various models (e.g., predictive models, classifiers, analyze time series data, and ship behavioral pattern algorithms) on proprietary data.
• Lead projects from ideation to production, ensuring solutions are effective in real-world scenarios, and monitored for quality over time.
• Collaborate with product managers to understand problems and define solutions.
• Contribute to the research environment/infrastructure in order to improve the flexibility and speed of our delivery

Who are you?

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in implementing machine learning algorithms in the industry, all the way to production.
• Proficient in Python and experienced in bringing ideas to production, including coding, testing, and monitoring.
• Experience with classical time series analysis or deep learning.
• Ability to learn new tools and methodologies as needed.
• Strong understanding of ML concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and working fluency in English.
• Flexible and willing to work with a variety of tools and models.
• Team player who prefers simple and effective solutions.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Familiarity with generative AI (GenAI).
• Experience working with geospatial data.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark).
• Familiarity with existing ML ecosystem tools (e.g., Qwak, MLFlow)
• Experience with customer communication and interaction.
