Senior Data Scientist - Black Box Optimization

Responsibilities: Leading Research in Black Box Optimization

You will be a focal point responsible for applying (and expanding) MTE’s technology to real-world industrial problems. You will have to answer research questions involving multiple data modalities and constraints. This role will require a holistic view of the problem, professional competency, and a willingness to think outside the box.

• You will work closely with our CSO and CEO to clearly define goals and deliverables and lead an execution of the R&D program.
• Support the R&D team as an individual contributor and/or a team leader with experimental design and execution, data analysis and interpretation, writing scientific reports and communication of research outcomes to support outlining of next steps.
• Identify and support implementation of innovation technologies that support the long-term strategy of MTE - making extrusion more efficient and improving texture in meat alternatives.
• Define processes and develop tools and infrastructure to constantly improve research quality and capacity.

Experience & Qualifications Requirements:

• PhD in Optimization / Machine Learning / etc. or MSc with relevant industry experience.
• Industrial or academic experience in developing black-box optimization models.
• Strong experience in R/Python/Julia.
• Strong communication skills and English fluency.
• Broad interest in other computational modalities (statistics, deep learning, etc.) preferred.
• Experience in startups - preferred.
