Your Role and Responsibilities

Databand is growing! Our successful and inclusive team is looking now for a senior software engineer with solid work experience in developing production code in cloud environment.

The right candidate is a great communicator and team player, with excellent collaboration skills, helping break down silos. They have strong self-leadership skills, mentoring and supporting the team members to develop their skills and evolve in their careers.

A must have is a growth mind set: hungry to learn continuously to improve in their area of expertise, and open for constructive feedback in order to progress.

This is a challenging role that requires understanding complex systems, and ability to change them according to the clients’ requirements.

A big plus is if you worked as a “platform engineer” in Big Data Teams.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Core/SDK Engineer in Databand, you will:

• Work with the product and technical leaders and make sure we are delivering a high-quality product that provides value to our customers.
• Create a top-notch SaaS and On-Prem application for Data Engineers and Data Managers which monitors data reliability issues in their data pipelines.
• Lead the design and architecture of a scalable write-intensive system that monitors cutting-edge big data technologies.
• Drive impact directly on Databand business by working and collaborating with your team, managers, and peers in a stream-aligned team that is driven by business impact with clear business KPIs
• Maintain an awesome engineering culture that emphasizes achieving business goals in a cutting-edge technologies environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven work experience in backend/SDK engineering, working on SaaS production systems.
• Leadership skills: ability to understand the high-level goal, extract it into a technical project, and execute it while guiding the other team members.
• Business mindset - understanding the value of the features you are working on and making the right technological decisions to achieve the value.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Expertise with:
• Python/JVM projects CI/CD pipelines, and build systems.
• writing stand along systems/scripts while being able to deploy them into customer environment (as SDK, monitor, listener or similar).
• complex systems and open-source projects.
• Big Data Open source projects (for example Apache Airflow or Apache Spark)
• Fluent in Hebrew and English (speak / read / write)
