Summary
The system engineering team is responsible for developing, integrating, and building advanced sensing systems, combining cutting-edge modules with advanced algorithms across multi-disciplinary domains: electro-optical components, unique physical models, bio-mechanical considerations, mechanical and electrical trade-offs, dedicated SW & FW, large-scale data analysis, and classic and ML-based algorithms.
Description
The system engineer role is highly collaborative, requiring close work with multiple HW and SW teams to analyze and optimize overall system performance. It demands hands-on experience, the ability to define and track system specifications, and the capacity to lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering reliable, high-performance system features.
Responsibilities
- Own the complete system life-cycle — from Proof-Of-Concept through preliminary design, detailed architecture, module builds, testability, and delivery to mass-production
- Risk mapping and mitigation activities
- Define data collection requirements
- Signal analysis and trade-off mapping
- System optimization
- Collaborate with multiple HW and SW teams to analyze and optimize overall system performance
- Define and track system specifications
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance system features
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
- At least 5 years of experience as a system engineer of multi-disciplinary systems, delivering products from PoC to mass production phase.
- Detailed understanding of optical sensing systems and modules design: image sensors, laser emitters, optical elements, mechanics, assembly processes, laser drivers, SoC computation and interfaces.
- Experience defining and tracking system requirements and specifications from system level, through sub-modules and components.
- Expertise in system level modeling/simulation, image/signal processing and large scale data analysis in Matlab and/or Python.
- Great interpersonal skills - team player with the ability to collaborate across multiple groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSc/PhD in a relevant field (EE, ME, CS, or Physics) or equivalent.
- Hands on lab experience with optical setups and/or electrical equipment.
- Experience with laser safety and compliance domains.
- Experience in the consumer electronics industry and vendors.
