Position : DataOps Engineer
Location : Hybrid, Hod Hasharon
We are looking for a DataOps Engineer to join our Data team and work across data engineering, databases, production operations, and Data Science / ML initiatives.
What You Will Do
Data Engineering & Databases
- Work with development teams on data aspects of new features and existing systems.
- Take part in database and data-design reviews alongside senior team members.
- Develop and improve SQL queries, stored procedures, schemas, and data processes.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and aggregation processes using SQL and PythonHelp investigate and improve database and query performance.
Data Science & ML
- Take an active part in Data Science, ML, and AI initiatives.
- Explore and prepare data, develop features and transformations, and participate in model development and evaluation.
- Help turn successful analytical and ML solutions into production capabilities.
Operations
- Investigate and troubleshoot data-related production issues and performance problems.
- Monitor and support database maintenance and automated data processes.
- Maintain and extend internal automation tools using Python and Bash.
- Work with DevOps on database deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting in Linux environments.
- Handle data extraction and analysis requests from internal teams.
- Document procedures, findings, and best practices.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation after onboarding.
What Makes You An Ideal Candidate
- Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, a related field or an alternative experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a data, database, backend, or similar technical role, including student positions.
- Good SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and window functions.
- Understanding of database fundamentals, including transactions, indexes, constraints, DDL/DML, and basic data modelling.
- Basic understanding of execution plans and query performance.
- Hands-on experience working with Linux.
- Interest in and basic hands-on knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- A responsible and careful approach to working with production data.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with multiple internal teams.
Advantages
- Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting.
- Experience with Oracle, Vertica, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or other relational / columnar databases.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with Tableau or other BI tools.
- Experience with ML / Data Science libraries or projects.
