About the role.
Roojoom builds conversational AI for enterprise telcos. Our Care platform guides millions of customer sessions a month across voice, IVR, chat and web, with a GenAI layer answering live callers in under a second. We're looking for a junior engineer to join the Care team and grow into a full stack developer on a real production system, with a tech lead and senior engineers who review your code and teach as they go.
This is a learning role with real responsibility. In your first month you'll go through a structured onboarding (Django, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Kafka, our LLM stack) and ship your first tickets. By the end of your first year you should be owning small features end to end.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain features across our Python backend (Django, FastAPI) and Vue frontends.
- Write unit and integration tests for the code you ship, and help raise coverage on existing code.
- Debug issues in QA and production using logs, Grafana and Sentry, with guidance from the team.
- Work with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) every day, and understand and own every line they produce.
- Take part in daily standups, code reviews and sprint planning.
- Learn how LLM-based features are built, tested and rolled out, and contribute to them as you grow.
You'd be a good fit if you have
- A B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or a strong coding bootcamp plus personal projects you can walk us through.
- Working knowledge of Python; JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus.
- Solid fundamentals: REST APIs, relational vs. NoSQL databases and when to use each, Git workflows (branches, commits, reverts).
- Some exposure to Docker (what a Dockerfile is and why containers exist).
- Curiosity about how things work under the hood, and the honesty to say "I don't know yet."
- Care about quality: you test your work before calling it done.
- Good communication in Hebrew and English; you ask questions and write clearly.
Bonus points for
- A side project or GitHub repo you're proud of.
- Experience with Linux, SQL, or a CI tool (GitHub Actions or similar).
- Any hands-on work with LLM APIs or agent frameworks.
- French, for working with our customers in France.
