About us

We are at the forefront of advancing quantum and superconducting technologies, working on cutting-edge research and development to fabricate superconducting chips. Our mission is to innovate and push the boundaries of chip fabrication while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Millimeter-Wave Antenna / Quantum Hardware Design Engineer to join our EM design team. Qubits, couplers and resonators are microwave structures — if you design mm-wave antennas or passive structures in full-wave EM tools, your skills transfer directly.

You will own EM simulation, microwave design and layout of our superconducting quantum chips and their packaging, working closely with qubit designers, fabrication and measurement, and see your designs built and tested. No quantum background required — we teach that part.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-wave electromagnetic simulation and modeling of on-chip microwave structures — qubits, tunable couplers, resonators and readout lines — and translating EM results into circuit and quantum models.
  • Investigate new electromagnetic concepts for quantum hardware — low-loss resonator and coupler geometries, on-chip filtering, and novel 3D-integration structures — and see the most promising ideas fabricated and measured.
  • Design and optimize the on-chip and package electromagnetic environment — coupling, crosstalk, radiation, spurious modes, transitions and interconnects.
  • Take microwave structures from concept through physical layout (GDS) to tapeout.
  • Explore data-driven and AI-assisted approaches to accelerate EM and layout design.
  • Work with fabrication and measurement teams on flip-chip and multilayer structures, and correlate simulation with cryogenic measurements.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing mm-wave or microwave antennas, arrays, or passive structures (feeds, transitions, filters, couplers), taken from simulation to measurement.
  • Strong proficiency with full-wave 3D and planar EM solvers (e.g. HFSS, CST, Sonnet, Momentum, EMX, COMSOL).
  • Physical layout experience — on-chip, LTCC, multilayer PCB or GDS — with a design-for-fabrication mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate technical results clearly in a small, fast-moving team.

Advantages

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • On-chip / AiP antennas, mm-wave MMIC, or package co-design experience.
  • Experience with cryogenic microwave hardware, superconducting circuits, or quantum devices — a plus, not a requirement.
  • Python for simulation scripting and data analysis.
  • Exposure to machine learning or optimization methods for design.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work on pioneering technologies in a cutting-edge field.
  • A collaborative environment that values innovation and creativity.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A chance to make a significant impact on the future of superconducting and quantum technologies.

How to Apply

If you’re ready to take on the challenge and contribute to the future of superconducting technologies, please send your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you’re the ideal fit for this role to [email protected].
