Research Engineer / AI Scientist – Bioinspired Artificial Intelligence

We seek a highly motivated and creative researcher to join an exciting interdisciplinary project at the interface of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and robotics. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of a novel bioinspired AI architecture based on closed-loop active sensing and event-based computation, with a particular focus on developing the project's Homeostatic (HS) Loop and Cognitive (C) Loop.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new generation of sustainable, energy-efficient AI inspired by principles of biological perception.

Desired qualifications (experience in several of the following is advantageous):

· Strong theoretical and practical background in control theory and control engineering

· Experience designing, training, and evaluating deep neural networks

· Experience with spiking neural networks and neuromorphic computing

· Knowledge of event-based vision and artificial vision systems

· Excellent programming skills (Python/PyTorch or equivalent)

· Ability to work independently while collaborating in an interdisciplinary research environment
