Join our
UPS Data Centers group and play a key role in developing SolarEdge's next generation of high-performance power conversion and backup power solutions for data centers. As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will take ownership of hardware development throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept and design through validation and mass production—working on complex, multidisciplinary systems in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Developer to lead the design, development, and integration of embedded firmware solutions for complex HW/SW systems. The role involves developing production-grade software, driving technical decisions, supporting product bring-up, and working closely with hardware, validation, automation, and system engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for real-time systems.
- Develop software for microcontroller-based products and peripheral interfaces.
- Lead debugging and root-cause analysis across hardware and software domains.
- Define software architecture and drive implementation of new features.
- Integrate communication protocols and external peripherals.
- Participate in product bring-up, validation, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Hardware, QA, Automation, System Engineering, and Product Management.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Support CI/CD processes and software release activities.
- Drive software quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers.
- Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture.
- Experience with RTOS environments (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, etc.).
- Experience debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols:
- CAN / CAN-FD, UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet
- Experience with Git-based development workflows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with battery management systems (BMS).
- Experience with power electronics or energy products.
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS.
- Experience with Embedded Linux application development
- Experience in functional safety or secure boot implementations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Python scripting and automation experience.
- Experience working with Linux-based development environments.
- Knowledge of OTA/FOTA update mechanisms.
