We’re looking for someone with a strong software engineering background and real hands-on AI experience- a leader who can think strategically, but is still comfortable diving into architecture, reviewing code, and solving complex technical challenges alongside the team.
This role combines two key missions: enabling business units across the organization to develop AI solutions independently within secure and governed environments, while also building complex AI solutions for strategic business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of secure, governed AI environments, including CI/CD security gates, LLM Gateway, Paved Roads, and approved development templates.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for the AI development team, including architecture, code reviews, and complex problem-solving.
- Own project intake, risk classification, data governance, and controlled access to databases and data repositories, including Vector Databases for RAG.
- Work closely with the organization’s Azure architecture, Information Security, Compliance, and business units.
- Build and lead the team, establish engineering standards, and support professional development.
What We’re Looking For
- B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a related technological field.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant hands-on AI/LLM development and architecture experience.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG, Prompt Engineering, AI Agents, and tools such as Azure OpenAI, Claude, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD infrastructure and enterprise cloud environments.
- Practical knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, data governance, and controlled data access.
- Previous experience managing or leading an engineering team.
- Strong system-level thinking and the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives, while balancing innovation with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Nice to Have
- Experience building an Internal Developer Platform.
- Familiarity with Vector Databases, Embeddings, and Agentic AI Workflows.
- Experience working in an enterprise organization with regulatory requirements and multiple business units.
- Relevant Azure certifications.
