About the Role

We are looking for a Linux System Infrastructure Engineer (Alpha Lab) to join our R&D Integration team and take ownership of one of the most critical development environments in the company.

Our Alpha Lab is where next-generation AI servers are assembled, configured, tested, and validated before our cooling technology reaches customers. You'll be responsible for managing the lab infrastructure, bringing up new server platforms, maintaining Linux-based environments, supporting automation and debugging activities, and enabling engineering teams across Software, Integration, and Testing to work efficiently.

This is a unique hands-on role that combines Linux, system integration, automation, hardware, and infrastructure, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and solving complex technical challenges.

This is a deeply hands-on engineering role. It is suited to someone who enjoys physically working with server hardware while also developing software and automation solutions that make the lab more efficient, reliable, and scalable.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Alpha Lab server environment, including multiple server racks used for R&D validation and testing.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on new server platforms.
  • Configure and manage virtual machines, Docker containers, and server images for development and testing environments.
  • Develop automation tools and scripts using Python, Bash, or similar technologies to streamline server provisioning, environment setup, testing workflows, health monitoring, and recurring lab operations.
  • Proactively identify repetitive or manual engineering processes that can be automated and implement reliable, reusable, and creative solutions that improve engineering efficiency.
  • Prepare, configure, and validate servers and complete test environments for engineering experiments, ensuring that setups are stable, reproducible, and ready for use.
  • Perform system bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting across hardware and software environments.
  • Assemble, configure, and integrate new server platforms, including hardware installation and component replacement when required.
  • Support validation activities by preparing and maintaining stable test environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot lab networking, including server connectivity, IP configuration, switching, VLANs, and related communication issues.
  • Monitor the health, availability, and environmental conditions of the lab, including server infrastructure and equipment.
  • Work closely with Software, Integration, and Test Engineers to support development activities and resolve technical issues.
  • Document configurations, procedures, automation tools, and lab best practices to ensure a reliable and scalable working environment.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in Linux-based server infrastructure, system integration, lab operations, or a similar multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to independently establish, manage, and take full ownership of lab infrastructure, operating procedures, and working environments.
  • Strong experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems, servers, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware installation, system bring-up, component replacement, and hardware–software integration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, virtual machines, and Docker containers.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing automation tools and scripts using Python, Bash, or a similar scripting language- not only running or maintaining existing scripts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities across hardware, operating systems, networking, and software environments.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP configuration, connectivity, switching, and VLANs.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • A proactive, independent approach, with the ability to identify operational gaps, develop practical solutions, and take end-to-end ownership of the lab environment.


Nice to Have

  • Experience managing or supporting R&D labs, system integration labs, or validation environments.
  • Experience with AI servers, GPU-based systems, or high-performance computing platforms.
  • Experience developing or supporting automated testing environments.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and DevOps methodologies.
