A leading global technology company providing cloud-based customer experience solutions is looking for a Backend Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a 6-month temporary position (maternity leave replacement) focused on building scalable backend systems, developing high-impact features, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools, especially Claude Code, as part of the daily engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend features using Java, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Use AI coding tools for planning, development, code review, and improving engineering workflows.
• Design technical solutions, build REST APIs, and work with relational databases.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum processes.
• Promote best practices for validating and improving AI-generated code.
  
  

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience with relational databases and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding agents.
• Experience working on large-scale production systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high-level English.
