Salesforce has immediate opportunities for backend software engineers to join our Semantic Layer team. The Semantic Layer is a strategic component of Salesforce’s Data Cloud and Analytics platform. It provides a unified, business-friendly abstraction over raw data, enabling consistent, trusted access to key metrics across reports, dashboards, and AI systems.

We're looking for motivated engineers who want their code to have a significant and measurable impact on our users, the company, and the industry. Your Impact

As a Backend Software Engineer on our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building new and scalable components in an evolving market and technology landscape
  • Writing production-ready, high-quality code used by millions across our cloud platform
  • Making architectural and design decisions that optimize for performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Participating in all stages of the SDLC: design, implementation, testing, automation, and code reviews
  • Developing backend components and algorithms in a microservice, multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment

Required Skills

  • 1+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills. Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node.js
  • Experience developing SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. Postgres, Trino, Redshift, MongoDB)
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team

  • Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience in fast-paced, rapidly scaling global organizations
