About MATICS

MATICS is a Manufacturing Intelligence Platform built for production floors seeking to consistently improve operational performance.

We connect every machine, line, and system across the shop floor into a single live view, giving operations teams the real-time clarity to hit production targets consistently, shift after shift. When something goes wrong, teams know immediately, with the context to act before OEE drops, not after.

We're a product-driven company building in a market that's moving fast. If you want to work on something manufacturers actually use on the floor every day, we'd like to meet you.

Mission

Own the connectivity layer between the factory floor and the MATICS platform - from machine/sensor/PLC to clean data flowing into the product - and be both the person who decides how it's done and the person who does it.

Responsibilities

  • Own the edge stack: gateways (Raspberry Pi, Arduino Opta), industrial protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.), and connections to PLCs and machines at customer sites.
  • Hands-on execution: basic-to-intermediate Python, debugging connectivity/hardware issues at the integration level, building lab setups, reproducing field failures.
  • Act as the internal technical authority on hardware, connectivity, and control - across R&D, CS, and Product - and externally with customers and integrators.
  • Product input: shape the connectivity roadmap, define requirements, make build-vs-buy calls, decide which devices and protocols are supported.
  • Vendor management: evaluate and select hardware/component suppliers, integrators, and networking equipment.
  • Support deployments and sales when machine-connectivity questions come up, and back up CS/support on OT-side escalations.

Must-have

  • Real control/automation background - PLCs (Siemens/Rockwell, etc.), industrial protocols, familiarity with SCADA.
  • Genuine production-floor experience - has worked inside or with factories, understands the environment, and can talk to a customer's control/maintenance engineer in their own language.
  • A hands-on mindset - comfortable with hardware, wiring, logic analyzers, field troubleshooting.
  • Basic-to-intermediate Python/scripting - can read, write, and debug, but doesn't need to be a software engineer.
  • Ownership and communication - drives a topic end to end, with vendors and customers, in Hebrew and English.

Nice-to-have

  • Product sense / experience defining requirements.
  • IIoT / edge computing experience.
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs at customer sites - also relevant to your security/ISO context).
  • Comfort with Linux (the gateways run on Raspberry Pi).
