ELTA Systems Intelligence, Communications & Electronic Warfare Division, is seeking an Algorithm Researcher to develop advanced algorithms in the fields of spectrum intelligence (SIGINT, communications, and electromagnetic warfare), geospatial and visual intelligence, and intelligence fusion and exploitation.

This role spans the entire development lifecycle from early-stage research and concept development through implementation, integration into operational systems, and performance evaluation. It offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including signal processing, sensor fusion, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, while contributing to mission-critical intelligence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team to develop innovative technologies and integrate them into operational systems.
• Develop mathematical models for complex problems and operational scenarios.
• Research and develop algorithms for detection, classification, localization, direction finding, tracking, and related intelligence applications.
• Transform abstract concepts into mathematical models and implement them as efficient software solutions.
• Conduct performance analysis throughout the algorithm development lifecycle using analytical methods, simulations, and experimental measurements.
• Support the transition of research concepts into deployable capabilities and operational products.
• Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and domain experts to integrate algorithms into advanced intelligence systems.

Requirements

• M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another exact science discipline – required.
• At least 3 years of experience developing software using MATLAB and/or Python – required.
• Strong mathematical background and system-level understanding of complex systems.
• Ability to analyze, model, and solve complex technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience developing algorithms.
• Experience with estimation techniques (e.g., Kalman Filters) and/or optimization problems and operations research.
• Experience developing simulation environments and models.
• Experience with Sensor Fusion, navigation systems, or signal processing algorithms.
• Experience developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Computer Vision algorithms.
• Experience in Electronic Warfare (EW), SIGINT, communications systems, or related domains.
