Role OverviewAs the R&D Team Lead - Software Platforms, you will lead the software engineering team responsible for the systems surrounding our robotics platform.
You will own the development of cloud services, operational systems, web applications, integrations, internal tools, deployment infrastructure, and customer-facing platforms that power our autonomous robotics operations.
This is a highly hands-on leadership role.
You are expected to remain an active software engineer and spend at least 60% of your time writing, reviewing, designing, and shipping production code.
You will lead by example through technical contribution, architectural ownership, engineering execution, and team leadership.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership· Lead a team of software engineers while remaining one of the team's primary technical contributors
· Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices
· Own team execution, planning, prioritization, and delivery
· Recruit, interview, onboard, and mentor engineers
· Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Architecture & Development· Design and build scalable cloud-native systems supporting autonomous robotics operations
· Develop and maintain production software using TypeScript and modern web technologies
· Own architecture decisions across backend services, web applications, integrations, operational platforms, and infrastructure
· Build customer-facing applications, operational dashboards, internal tools, and platform services
· Design APIs, event-driven workflows, and integration layers
· Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to integrate autonomous systems into production environments
Operations & Reliability· Improve platform reliability, observability, monitoring, and operational readiness
· Drive CI/CD automation and engineering productivity initiatives
· Ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and performance across the platform
· Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues
Required Experience· 7+ years of software engineering experience
· 2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
· Proven track record of remaining hands-on while leading engineers
· Strong production software development background with recent coding experience
· Proven experience designing and delivering production systems at scale
· Experience owning systems end-to-end from architecture through production operations
· Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
· Ability to balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability
Technical Requirements· Strong TypeScript experience
· Strong React experience
· Experience designing and operating systems on AWS
· Experience building APIs, integrations, and distributed systems
· Experience with event-driven architectures
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
· Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and production operations
· Ability to contribute across frontend, backend, and infrastructure domains as needed
Preferred Experience· Experience with IoT platforms and connected devices

LocationThis position requires regular presence at both our Ra’anana offices and Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
The role involves close collaboration with software engineers, robotics teams, operations personnel, and customer stakeholders in active production environments.
