About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Backend Team Lead to join and lead our development team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with a strong drive to architect and deliver scalable, high-performance backend systems, while guiding and growing a talented team of developers.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the backend development team, helping shape technical direction and execution
• Own and drive backend features and initiatives from architecture through execution and release, ensuring strong impact across the product lifecycle
• Mentor and guide backend engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between backend systems, product goals, and business needs
• Define and enforce best practices for software architecture, code quality, and system performance
• Lead technical decision-making for microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed architecture

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience leading the design, development, and delivery of Java-based applications, including Spring Boot (MVC and Reactive)
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with software architecture, design patterns, and scalable distributed systems
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining secure, high-performance systems
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization
• Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and asynchronous processing
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent to build effective cross-functional relationships
• Professional-level English communication skills, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with MongoDB
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS
• Experience in social gaming, mobile gaming, iGaming, or gambling industries
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices, DevOps principles, and related tools
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React or Angular
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and performance tuning practices
