Controp is a global leader in high-end EO/IR surveillance and defense solutions. As the AI Team Leader, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and mission-critical hardware. You will lead an elite team of researchers and engineers to define the next generation of algorithmic capabilities for our stabilized payloads and autonomous systems.



Responsibilities

Technical Leadership: Lead the research, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art Computer Vision and Deep Learning algorithms tailored for EO/IR sensors.

End-to-End Ownership: Oversee the full algorithmic lifecycle—from theoretical feasibility and simulation to optimized implementation on embedded edge devices.

Strategic Roadmap: Collaborate with the Head of Analytics and EVP R&D to align AI initiatives with the company’s technological roadmap and market needs.

Mentorship & Excellence: Cultivate a culture of algorithmic rigor, ensuring high standards of coding, documentation, and academic-level research within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Hardware, Software, and Systems Engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into complex multidisciplinary products.


Requirements

Proven Leadership: At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams in defense-tech or multidisciplinary R&D environments.

Domain Expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Computer Vision and Deep Learning (Detection, Tracking, Segmentation, etc.).

Algorithmic Foundation: Deep understanding of Classical Image Processing and computer vision algorithms – a significant advantage.

Embedded AI: Proven experience in implementing and optimizing algorithms for Edge Devices (NVIDIA Jetson, DSPs, FPGAs, or similar).

Education: M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from a leading university. PhD – a significant advantage.
