Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineering Lead - Hardware and Firmware to join our team, playing a crucial role in leading the development of the next generation of Playermaker technology. In this position, you will be central to defining the architecture and ensuring the seamless integration of our core sensor development processes. Working closely with the VP R&D, you will collaborate with hardware, firmware, mobile application, and algorithm developers to ensure successful system-level performance. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional technical depth and strong communication skills to drive complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain system-level requirements, architecture, interfaces, and technical specifications for the company's products.
  • Lead system integration across hardware, firmware, algorithms, mobile applications, and manufacturing test systems.
  • Lead hands-on board bring-up, firmware integration, and system debugging activities for new and existing products.
  • Oversee the end-to-end next generation product development process, including design, prototyping, implementation, manufacturing, testing, validation, and product support.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for hardware, firmware, software, production, and field issues, and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Define and manage system-level verification and validation plans, including functional, performance, reliability, and production-related testing.
  • Review the design, implementation, and testing of new hardware and firmware features to ensure alignment with system requirements.
  • Collaborate with mobile application and algorithm developers to ensure successful integration, data flow, and product-level performance.
  • Own the assembly line optimization, testing and production support activities, including maintaining production test procedures, troubleshooting production issues, analyzing yield problems, and driving continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing consumer electronic devices, or similar multidisciplinary electronic systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Strong experience with system-level product development, including requirements definition, architecture, integration, testing, and validation.
  • Strong working knowledge of electronic design processes, including component selection, schematic review, PCB layout considerations, board bring-up, testing, and debugging.
  • Strong working knowledge of embedded firmware development and testing in C/C++, with the ability to understand firmware architecture, review implementation, and support system-level debugging.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, mobile, algorithm, manufacturing, and QA.
  • Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills across hardware, firmware, software, and system-level issues.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation, specifications, test plans, and integration procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to technically lead and align engineers and subcontractors from different disciplines.
  • Proven experience with BLE or similar wireless communication protocols, including system-level debugging and integration with mobile applications.
  • Proven experience with production test systems and manufacturing support.

Advantages:

  • Experience with real-time operating systems for microcontrollers such as FreeRTOS.
  • Experience integrating autonomous AI agents to optimize system engineering and software development.
  • Experience with motion sensors, IMUs, inertial sensing, or sensor fusion.
  • Hands-on experience using lab and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, BLE sniffers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
  • Experience with wearable products, low-power products, and high-volume consumer electronics.

We welcome applicants of all genders and from every team fanbase.
