Job Description:

The Core Architecture team is seeking an exceptional and innovative EE/CS student to take part in shaping Intel's next generation processor Core micro-architecture.

This role offers the opportunity to make a transformative impact on future processor cores that will power millions of devices worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze performance bottlenecks of current generation processors and identify breakthrough optimization opportunities
  • Design, code (C++), and evaluate cutting-edge algorithms using advanced simulation frameworks
  • Tune and optimize algorithms for peak performance, power efficiency, and scalability
  • Leverage AI-driven development tools, including prompt engineering and Agentic AI systems to accelerate innovation
  • Apply modern development methodologies including agile practices, continuous integration, and collaborative design thinking
  • Drive creative problem-solving to overcome complex micro-architectural challenges that will define the future of computing

Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering student with at least 3 semesters until graduation.
  • Strong programming skills (C++ preferred) with performance optimization knowledge
  • Processor core micro-architecture knowledge is an advantage
  • Creative mindset with ability to think beyond conventional solutions

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (Verilog/VHDL)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and performance analysis
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices (Git, CI/CD, code review processes)
  • Understanding of AI-assisted development workflows
