About the role

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable web applications, ensuring a seamless and high-performance user experience across the stack.
• Own the technical execution of the full development lifecycle - from concept and system design to deployment and ongoing maintenance - while establishing and enforcing engineering best practices.
• Mentor and guide developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Drive the technical vision of a fast-growing, innovative startup, shaping the future of our technology and acting as the bridge between product goals and engineering realities.
• Report directly to the VP R&D, collaborating closely on the technology roadmap, team scaling, and strategic architectural decisions.

About you

• You are a highly motivated technical leader, excited to take ownership and make a foundational impact at an early-stage company.
• 6+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record of leading complex technical projects, architectural decisions, or engineering teams.
• Strong product-building experience, with the ability to quickly translate high-level ideas and business requirements into robust, scalable backend solutions.
• Deep expertise in backend architecture, API design, database management, and distributed systems.
• An advantage: Experience with frontend development. While your primary domain is the backend, an understanding of the client side is a major plus for guiding full-stack efforts and ensuring seamless cross-stack integration.
• An advantage is given to those familiar with our technology stack (Python, TypeScript, React).
