About the Role

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our Backend Automation Team.

In this role, you’ll design, develop, and implement automated tests for complex backend services, ensuring our distributed systems remain reliable, performant, and secure as we scale.

You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers and other QA automation developers to embed automation into the development lifecycle and take ownership of quality assurance across critical backend components.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient test code in TypeScript.
• Build and execute automated test suites to validate Kafka message flows, stream processing, and other backend integrations, data pipelines, and APIs interactions.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, monitor test coverage, and ensure test stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with backend developers to define test strategies and ensure new features are testable by design.
• Investigate, reproduce, and document defects with clear technical details and context.
• Continuously enhance test frameworks, tools, and internal QA processes for greater efficiency and robustness.

Who You Are

Must-Haves:

• 4+ years of experience in QA automation for backend systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience testing and automating Kafka-based architectures and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong skills in TypeScript (preferred), or Python / Java.
• Solid understanding of API testing, microservices architecture, and asynchronous systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp eye for edge cases, scalability, and reliability.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with SQL and backend data validation.
• Experience working with Docker.
• Understanding of distributed systems testing and load/performance testing.
• Background in data security or SaaS platforms.
